I have been very busy writing everyday for the last nine months and I think I've finally (almost, anyway) finished a memoir that has taken me over thirty years to write. I have attempted writing this memoir twice before and each time I threw away my efforts. I am finally mature enough to write about my eight years as a Daughter of the Holy Spirit. I never talk about those years so this has been a difficult journey for me.
I am beginning the search for a publisher. Hopefully I will find one before too long. Come along with me on my journey. I will keep you updated.
I also wanted to share with you a review of one of my books, Women at the Table, that was written on Amazon by E. Milligan who is a writer for an Acton Massachusetts newspaper. She called Women at the Table "a trailblazer and long overdue. Because of Della Fera's fresh perspective I find the facts she chooses to document and the stories she chooses to tell particualarly interesting."
I invite you to finish reading her review on Amazon or to go to "books" on my web site and take a closer look. With all of the election news lately, Women at the Table is more approprite than ever.
I have finished my 'political cozy mystery,' A Nice Murder at the State House. It is available on Amazon or on my web site. I invite you to take a look, as unfortunately, Senator John Nice is pushed over the railing in the Senate chambers and hits his head on his own seat and breaks his neck. Not all politicians die in their sleep!
Please check my event calendar for all my upcoming events. Hopefully I'll see you at one or two of them.
Michaeline Della Fera lives in Hollis, New Hampshire with her house-cat Blackie, and feral barn cats, Auntie, Tannie, Ginger, and Brady. People passing by and seeing a barn have dropped off their cats to live with me forever. My new eighty pound chocolate lab, Berkeley and I go down to the barn twice a day to feed the cats. I've never gotten close enough to any of them to hear them purr, but they come everyday to eat and sleep. Auntie has been with me for eight years and I love her even though she won't let me close enough to pet her.
I'm a former educator and special education director in public and private schools, and I've been writing since childhood. My first novel, Trading Faces, a cozy mystery, was published in January 2005.Trading Faces was followed by two others (Beneath the Villa Moon and A Taste of Death) and is now a part of a three book series. Cecce DeLuca is passionate about food and living.
I also compile and edit anthology's with a friend who lives in Massachusetts. Our first anthology, Friends, Stories of Friendship, which celebrates the power of long term friendships, was published in September 2005 and has been our best. Secrets followed and then Women's Words, which is a compilation of short stories by women.
I'm available to speak at conferences, political gatherings, book clubs, libraries, or other events. Simply email me at mdellafera@charter.net for more information or to ask any questions.llafera@charter.net.
